When Brett Goldstein, Jason Segel and Bill Lawrence were asked how they were able to cast Harrison Ford, Segel said that Goldstein originally wanted a “Harrison Ford type”.

Segel told Goldstein that they should at least take it to Ford first, thinking he would immediately turn it down, but at least others were hearing that Harrison Ford was involved in the project, which might interest other major players. Eventually, Goldstein talked to Ford and sold him the role. Goldstein still doesn’t understand what he did to convince her, but he was excited nonetheless.

The best part of the show is the interaction between Segal’s character and Harrison Ford’s character. This show has undoubtedly been nominated for all kinds of awards, and deservedly so. It must be doing well because it was renewed for a second season early on.
